History
Generations of trade and product knowledge
Bjarne Johnsen AS was founded as an importer in Bergen in 1924. Through generations we have built up in-depth knowledge of product groups, seasonal variations, and producers - from European potato and fruit regions to Norwegian seafood.
We have always prioritised long-term partnerships: with producers, with suppliers, and with customers. This provides security of supply, predictability in pricing, and a high level of quality, even during seasons with large fluctuations.
Today we are a modern trading house with technology, quality management, and logistics in place, but with the same fundamental principle as when we started: reliable goods, the right price, at the right time.
Freight forwarding and logistics
We handle it ourselves
Reliable transport
We cooperate with Bring and other carriers for demanding product groups, particularly fresh and live goods where time and cold chain management are critical.
Freight forwarding & customs clearance
Our export department handles air freight shipments, container shipments, and customs clearance, both into and out of Norway. Sales and delivery terms follow recognised Incoterms.
